Jake Gyllenhaal and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II celebrity in the bonkers heist thriller as 2 siblings fighting one of the most formidable opponent of all: L.A. traffic. Kidding! Well, just type of. Previous aquatic Will Sharp (Abdul-Mateen) is down on his good luck and needs a fast influx of cash to support a costly, life-saving therapy for his spouse, so he rely on his separated (and potentially sociopathic) hooligan sibling Danny (Gyllenhaal) for help. Fortunate for Danny but horribly unfortunate for Will, Danny's ready to manage the greatest financial institution burglary that L.A. has ever seen right when Will requests help, so he ropes his sibling right into the plan. Of course, points fail instantly and the siblings steal an rescue with an EMT (Eiza González) and injured cop (Jackson White) inside to earn their escape as the LAPD and FBI chase after them all throughout the city — through rush hr traffic, no much less.
The movie is a wild excitement trip from begin to finish as it provides everything you could potentially want from a high-adrenaline Bay flick. And while suspension of disbelief is required for this type of moviegoing experience, there were so many certifiable WTF minutes that we needed to rounded up the greatest, most stunning, and downright incredible.
We're not expert financial institution burglars — we just watch them onscreen — so we're not exactly certain what the best shoes is for heisting. But we definitely know the most awful option. Among Danny's break group of brilliants shows up at the financial institution wearing open-toed shoes. The hapless siblings need to improvisate a trip plan that involves driving the titular rescue aimlessly around the city with no real location in mind.
We're supposed to think a profession bad guy such as Danny, who's infamously burglarized countless financial institutions since he was a teenager and learned everything he understood from his famous bad guy dad, would not have any type of back-up escape plan? Or how about any type of plan at all?! Also their assigned trip car (which obtains instantly obliterated the second the police officers show up) had no clear hideaway location. This may be the the very least thought-out plan in financial institution heist background for what's allegedly the greatest score of perpetuity.
We need to discuss the minute when everything goes awry for Danny and Will. Because while their plans were undoubtedly defective, how could they have anticipated that it would certainly all go off the rails even if a police officer... wanted a day?

Bullets begin flying, and the cop finishes up in the rear of the taken rescue with several gunfire injuries. But has anybody inspected on that particular bad financial institution teller that was simply attempting to do her job? Dating in L.A. is hard enough without needing to worry about obtaining hit on and held up at the office.
It is not a Bay movie unless 2 guys sing in a car with each other, but Danny taking a psychological time-out from the high-speed authorities quest while still in the center of the high-speed authorities quest to sing some Christopher Go across was definitely unhinged — and downright funny. Points were obtaining a bit too extreme throughout their trip to no place, so Danny appears an earbud, gives the various other to Will, and both continue to relax by singing "Cruising," dance in their sittings as the rescue proceeds to evade cop cars and helicopters. Pay attention, we'd never ever begrudge a bit car karaoke to ease rush hr traffic stress but, sirs, currently is most definitely not the moment.
